These records list approximately 15,000 people giving evidence in Chancery court cases.
They were transcribed by SoG member Darris Williams from 23 volumes of 'Bernau notes'. These contain information on deponents in Chancery classes C11, C 22 and E 134.
The notebooks seem to contain different information from those held by the Society in the Lower library. A spot check of one case (C 11/1366/1 Play dell v Larder)showed 31 deponents in this dataset, whereas the Bernau notebooks held by the SoG listed somewhat less. Neither the plaintiff nor defendants appear to be listed in this dataset.
